6 Memories for “Tillmon Muin Roberts”

Tillmon was a kind, gentle man who exuded peace and nonjudgement. To be in his presence, soothed something deep inside. He traveled long distances to sing and dance in the Sufi way, showing his love and commitment to the inspirations we all received through the dances. He had a wonderful voice and gracious moves. Go with Love, Tillmon

Tillmon had the sweetest smile and kindest demeanor. He simply emanated loving kindness. He didn’t have to say much; the warmth in his eyes said it all.
Peace and light on your journey Tillman.

What a true friend to all. After his beloved wife passed away, he often reached out, and I learned so much more about his amazing life. Working in early computer tech with famous pioneers in that field & so much more. I helped out at his Cherag ordination, but, before that, we joined together in the Mah Po clan instigated by the late Tewa medicine man Grey Antelope. He was named Bear Heart due to his big generous heart. Ironic that a heart attack took him from us. We dearly loved him & Bhakti (his beloved wife). Thank you Tilmon wherever you are now besides in our hearts.

Tillmon Muin Bear Heart always said when asked how he was would respond “Blessed” and he was a true blessing to all that knew him. Such a Big Heart, thus the name Bear Heart given by Grey Antelope. Tillmon was always in service and giving to others, a gentle man that engaged in deep conversations, loved and respected, a dear friend to many.

You Know i’ve Been Scouring the Sacramento Papers To See Tillmon Roberts’ Obituary…i’ve Known Tillmon for Over 30 Years. We’ve shared Adventures, Heartbreaks, Good Times, Bad Times-We’ve Shared Our Spiritual Journeys Together—He Was My Best Friend—-At Death, They Say. Everything Inside Us Opens: Mouth, Heart, Even The Ear Opens, The Breath Passes, Through The Memories Of Loves And Faces. The Embrace Opens And Grandmothers Pass. Wearing Sunlight And Thin Rain. Walking Out Of Fire, As Flame And Smoke, Leaving The Ashes….They Say-There are three deaths. The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is when the body is consigned to the grave. The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time.” I’ve Been Holding Your Name Each Day…A Sacred Memory Of Our Time Together…Blessings And Many Ya Fatah’s For Your Next Adventure…Kabir Ron Massie.

Then Almitra spoke, saying, We would ask now of Death.
    And he said:
You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.

    In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
    From-On Death
    Kahlil Gibran
