| Description: | Music Meditation Circle Open the heart, relax the breath, tune the mind and uplift the spirit through the collective singing of Indian music (Hindustani, North Indian style). This circle will be an immersion in guided music and silence to create a meditative atmosphere. No prior music training is necessary. Sundays, February 7th and 21st, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Niroga Center for Healing, 1808 University Avenue, Berkeley, CA. 94703. Suggested donation - $15 Joan Allekotte and Deborah Sangeeta Tabor have studied Hindustani vocal music for many years with India’s master musicians, Pandit Pran Nath and Sri Karunamayee. Joan is the director and co-founder of Sur Laya Sangam Study Center for Indian Devotional Music, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization of California. Sangeeta serves on its board. Both are active practitioners of Indian vocal music. With deepest gratitude, this circle is offered in honor and appreciation of their revered teachers who have dedicated their music as a divine expression and spiritual pathway. This series is co-sponsored by Niroga Center for Healing and Sur Laya Sangam - Study Center for Indian Devotional Music. Proceeds will support both organizations |
